Profile |
In the middle of the 17th century centre of Prague with its swirl of Baroque and Romanesque architecture which has been declared a UNESCO heritage site, a civic treasure is the Hotel Hoffmeister that was inspired by Adolf Hoffmeister(1902-1973), writer, artist, bon viveur and created by his son, Martin. |
At the foot of the old castle and next to the city's most prestigious landmarks, it has a family run atmosphere and, whilst not uncommon, how many have an art gallery of some 200 renowned caricature portraits - Pablo Picasso, Bertolt Brecht, James Joyce, Charlie Chaplin to name a few - sketched by well-known artist Adolph Hoffmeister, father of the hotel's founder.
Also on display is a hotel guest book signed by many of these famous 20th century artists. |
Besides art, there is an easy grace and modernity to this Hotel. It is internationally recognized with an award-winning ADA restaurant, garden terrace, Ria Cafe & Bar, wine cellar, vinotheque..., indeed every comfort of our age. Lately, a Lily Wellness and Spa was opened offering a wide range of therapies and beauty treatments.
A member of prestigious Small Luxury Hotels of the World group, Hotel Hoffmeister is a treat even for the most demanding of guests. |
