| | | Our rooms and apartments are in five buildings, at Uvoz 26, Uvoz 3, Nerudova 33, Nerudova 7 and Nerudova 4: our reception area is at Nerudova 7. We are about twenty minutes' taxi ride from Prague Airport and very close to the metro and tram lines. It is very easy to get here from the airport or station: when you book you will be sent detailed directions. If you prefer, we can arrange for a taxi to be waiting for you at the airport or station when you arrive. Some of the sites are on the other side of the river, but they are also within easy walking distance across Charles Bridge. This side of the river is more exclusive than the other side, which tends to be full of noisy drinking parties. |
If you want to go farther afield there is a tram stop about five minutes' walk down the road and a metro stop about eight minutes' walk away. There are about two dozen restaurants and cafés within a couple of minutes' walk from where you will be staying. If you walk for about five minutes down the hill you will get to Charles Bridge. This is the most famous bridge in the Czech Republic and one of the most famous bridges in the world. It was commissioned by Charles IV in 1357. This area has enormous historical importance for Czechs. |
Nerudova Street was named after the poet and journalist Jan Neruda, who wrote a number of famous short stories about this area of Prague. The street is cobble-stoned and is lined with palaces and embassies. Many of the buildings have heraldic signs, which were originally used instead of street numbers. Our guests have included a number of famous people such as the singer Art Garfunkel and his family. We are in all the main guide books and have been featured on television in the US and in national papers and magazines in the UK, Italy, Norway and Sweden. |
