How To Reach Us

From airport:
Take bus 119 all the way to metro station Dejvicka (the last bus stop). You must buy a 26Kc ticket inside the terminal, and validate it in the yellow box upon boarding the bus. This ticket will only need to be validated once and will get you all the way to the hotel. Board the metro at Dejvicka and go 2 stops until station Malostranska. From there we are a 10 minute walk, or you can board trams # 20, 22, or 23 and go one stop to Malostranske Namesti. From there we are just a short walk up Nerudova street.

By train:
From Praha Hlavni Nadrazi (the main station). You will need a single 26Kc ticket for the trams, which you can buy at one of the kiosks. Don't forget to validate your ticket in one of the yellow machines as soon as you get in. There are no phone boxes which take coins inside the station; however, there is one right next to the tram stop. Leave the station by the main entrance: this looks out onto a small park. If you don't see the park please go back. Turn right into the park and walk along the wide path which leads to the road. You will see the tram stop directly ahead of you: you need a tram number 9 going in the direction away from the motorway fly-over. The call-box is slightly to your right on the other side of the street. The tram winds round the town for about twelve minutes. Get off at Ujezd, which is the first stop after you cross the river. The tram-stops are announced through loudspeakers on the tram; some trams have a display which shows the next stop; and all tram stops have the name of the stop marked at the top of the tram-stop itself. It is very difficult to miss the stop. Change to the 22 or 23, both of which stop at the same tram-stop. Take this second tram two stops to Malostranske Namesti. If you are hungry there is a good fruit shop just by the tram stop run by a very nice Chinese gentleman. The tram will turn the corner to the right: get off at the second stop, which is Malostranske Namesti. Get out of the tram and you will see a carpark to your left: walk across this car-park and follow the street up the hill. Within a couple of minutes you will be in Nerudova. Go to number 7 (on the left) and press the doorbell marked "The Castle Steps". If you arrive before 10am or after 10.30pm, or if you forgot to call from the station, there might not be anyone to greet you. In this case carry on up the hill another 100m and you will find call-boxes which take coins. Please call them and they will come within a few minutes.

Please note: some people try to walk all the way from the station. It is farther than it seems on the map and it is easy to get lost. We don't recommend making this trip by foot if you have luggage. The trip on the tram is quite straightforward and very pleasant.

From Praha Holesovice or Praha Smichov:
If your train doesn't stop at Hlavni Nadrazi you can get off at Praha Holesovice or Praha Smichov. In either case take tram 12. If you get off at Holesevice the tram will go in the direction to your right, while if you get off at Praha Smichov and come directly out of the main entrance you should take a tram going to the left. Look at the time-table by the tram stop to be sure and check that the tram goes to Malostranske Namesti. Directions from there are as above.

By Car:
- If you are coming from the north (D8/E55 from Dresden) turn off to Mala Strana just before you get to the river. Follow the road south along the river for about two kilometres. You will eventually lose sight of the river because there are buildings in the way. The road leads to Malostranska: here you will see roads and trams going to the left and the right, and a small park on your left. You need to aim for the road which is slightly to your right, but going in the same direction. Follow this road for about 700 metres. You will go past the Belgian, Indian and Polish Embassies on your right, and will see some gardens and a view of the castle. When you get to the traffic lights turn immediately right and go up the hill. After about 100m you will be on Nerudova. You should see a small car-park on your right. Carry on up the hill until you get to number 10, which is on the right. Park on the left and ring the doorbell. If you forgot to call when you arrived in Prague there may not be anybody to greet you. In this case walk up the hill: you will find call-boxes about 100m up on the right.
- If you are coming from the south/east, (D1/E50/E65 from Vienna and Budapest), you will turn off at the same point, just after you cross the river. The directions are the same as for D8/E55 from there on. If you are coming on either the D1 or the D8 and you miss the turning to Mala Strana you should try to get back onto the motorway and return. It is very easy to get to us from the motorway, but very difficult to find your way through Prague if you get off the motorway at the wrong point. If you are coming from the south/east it is tempting to get off the motorway too soon but please don't do this, as you will get hopelessly lost.
- If you are coming from the west (D5/E50 from Plzen, Munich or Regensburg) you should follow the roads to the centre (marked "centrum"). Turn off just before you get to the river and get onto the embankment road (Janackovo nabrezni). This runs north up the west side of the river. At the next bridge (Most Legii) you should turn right into Vitezna. When you get to a T-junction turn right (north) into Ujezd. Follow this until you get to Malostranske Namesti. Watch the tram tracks: if there are no tracks you are on the wrong road. When you get to Malostranske Namesti the road bends to the right and there is a car-park on your left. Turn right immediately after the car-park and you will be in Nerudova. Drive up Neruodva about 100m: number 7 is on the left. Park the car and press the doorbell marked "The Castle Steps". If you forgot to call there might not be anyone to greet you. In this case walk up the hill another 100m and you will find call-boxes which take coins. Please call them and someone will come within a few minutes.
