Bus Travel in Prague

Travelling by bus is very convenient even though the underground is the most suitable mean of transport to go around the city centre as buses mostly cover the outskirts of Prague.

There are 193 day lines which run from 4:30 a.m. till midnight about each 6-8 minutes during peak hours and about 10-20 minutes in the mornings and 15-30 minutes on Saturdays and Sundays. During night time service is provided by 12 night lines which run from 00:30 to 4:30 am every 30 minutes.

Bus schedules are located at individual stops and tickets can be purchased at any tobacco shop or 24-hours ticket machine. Remember that after validation "non-transfer tickets" are valid only 20 minutes and can be used only on a bus line. Therefore we suggest you to buy a "transfer ticket" which is a little more expensive but is valid for 75 minutes from validation (90 minutes on working days from 08:00 pm to 05:00 am and on Saturdays and Sundays) and allows you to travel on all metro, tram and buse lines.
